Frequently Asked Questions
Find everything you need to know about Ingestro – from how it works and what it supports to pricing, security, AI, and more.
What is Ingestro, and what problem does it solve?
Ingestro is the AI platform for automating data operations. Based in Germany, Ingestro helps global enterprises across industries integrate customer data across sources and formats using AI agents.
For years, software and service providers have invested in making data easier to move between systems through APIs, webhooks, and custom integrations. Yet many organizations still manage large parts of their data in spreadsheets and other files – often with inconsistent formats and structures.
When customer data arrives in formats you didn’t choose and on a schedule you didn’t set, your teams still have to make it ready for your systems, mostly by using templates. That is where the real data operations work begins.
Ingestro replaces this recurring manual work with a repeatable, automated process. AI agents organize, validate, and transform complex customer data from any source or format by creating and running reusable workflows on a single platform – replacing rigid templates, custom scripts, and manual intervention.
With full visibility and control over how data is prepared, implementation and operations teams across HR, payroll, tax, and beyond can onboard and serve more customers without adding headcount or relying on engineering.
What type of users rely on Ingestro day to day?
Ingestro supports a broad range of use cases and is most commonly relied on by onboarding, implementation, operations, and professional services teams at software and service providers across HR, payroll, tax, sustainability, booking, and other industries.
Do we need engineering support to use Ingestro?
You don’t need to involve developers to start using Ingestro. The platform provides a simple, user-friendly interface where teams can describe what they need and let agents handle the process from there. That simplicity is built on a technical foundation originally designed with engineers in mind, giving technical teams deep customization options for more advanced requirements.
How does Ingestro differ from an ETL or integration tool?
ETL and integration tools are built for data from systems you own or control. They assume a known source, a stable target schema, and a pipeline that only needs to be defined once. That’s why they typically break the moment a customer renames a column in spreadsheet or sends last quarter’s layout.
Ingestro is built to handle data that arrives from outside your organization – in whatever format the sender chose.
Instead of a fixed pipeline, you create reusable workflows that interpret each file, adapt to variance, and prepare the data to match your target structure.Instead of sitting with engineering, that work stays with the implementation and operations teams who already know what the data is supposed to look like.
How is Ingestro different from using an LLM to handle data?
An LLM can transform a file once, but it can’t guarantee the same result the next time. Ask it twice, and you may get two different outputs – with no audit trail, no validation, and no way to prove what happened to a customer’s data.
Ingestro uses AI where it belongs: its agents interpret the messy file and build the workflow, then that workflow runs deterministically, every time, on every row, with full traceability. You get AI's flexibility on the input and engineering-grade reliability on the output.
What does AI actually do when we use Ingestro?
AI agents do the interpretation work your team currently does by hand. They read the structure of each file, map it to your target data model based on context, and flag errors, inconsistencies, and missing values with suggested corrections.
Instead of writing a script or a spreadsheet formula, you describe the transformation in plain language and the agent applies it across the whole file.
The agents improve as they process more of your data, so recurring deliveries from the same source require progressively less attention. You decide what runs automatically and what requires review, and every step remains visible and traceable.
How long does it take to start using Ingestro?
You see value from the first demo. Because there is no implementation project to schedule and no engineering dependency, the users who own the data build the first workflow themselves – most teams have one running in their first week and then expand source by source. Ingestro’s service-first approach means our team works alongside yours throughout setup.
How does Ingestro’s pricing work?
Pricing combines a monthly base rate with a usage-based component. The base rate depends on the feature scope you choose, and the usage fee is based on the volume of files you process each month. Ingestro is billed monthly under an annual license, meaning a one-year commitment with monthly payments. For any questions on Ingestro’s pricing, please contact us at sales@ingestro.com.
How do we know Ingestro works for our use case before committing?
Test it on your own data. A 14-day free trial lets you set up your target data models, add validation and cleaning logic, and run your real customer files – including the ones that cause the most trouble today – through the workflows you build.
Every license additionally includes a free testing key, so you can keep validating changes after you buy without it affecting your invoice. The number worth measuring is how long a customer's data takes to prepare before and after. To start, contact our sales team or sign up with your email address.
What security measures do you have in place?
Ingestro is ISO 27001:2022 certified, SOC 2 audited, and GDPR-compliant by default. Beyond that, we encrypt data with AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.2+ in transit, and host on AWS, with daily encrypted backups.
Access follows least-privilege principles, with role-based permissions and mandatory multi-factor authentication. We monitor continuously, scan for vulnerabilities, and commission annual third-party penetration tests – backed by a 99.9% availability guarantee. For stricter requirements, you can also self-host Ingestro on your own infrastructure.
Which certifications and regulations does Ingestro comply with?
Ingestro holds ISO 27001:2022 certification and has completed a SOC 2 Type I audit, with security practices independently verified on an ongoing basis. We are also fully GDPR-compliant: we neither process nor store personal or sensitive end-user information by default, and all non-sensitive configuration data is hosted exclusively in the EU. We’re happy to support your security review with our security documentation, DPA, and subprocessor list, please contact security@ingestro.com.
